Planning your next trip and haven’t a clue where to stay in Bangkok? We have broken it down into several areas in Bangkok for you to consider to rest your head after a long day of excitement.
We have broken down highly ranked lodging options by the various areas of Bangkok, namely, Siam, Sukhumvit and Pratunam. With so much to offer, you will never have a boring moment no matter the area you pick.
Pro Tip: Note which airport you are flying into and out of Bangkok as they might defer! This is especially important when planning your first and last days in Bangkok. Check if it is the Don Mueang International Airport (DMK) or Suvarnabhumi Airport (aka Bangkok Airport or BKK). The Airport Rail Link goes to the BKK airport, so if you are planning to leave from/ go to DMK via public transport, grabbing a cab would be more ideal instead of travelling by train.

Where to Stay Bangkok – Sukhumvit
There is simply no issue of finding a bite to eat at midnight when in Bangkok, especially in Sukhumvit. The same can apply to seek entertainment in this area with an abundance to do. It’s known for being the hotspot for youngsters looking to go shopping, partying or on the search to visit trendy food scenes.
The search to fill your tummies is not limited to Thai food but all sorts of cuisines! The range goes from the streetside U$1 for a 750ml worth of delectable Thai Milk Tea, late night snacks at the Rot Fai Night Market, to Michelin star restaurants. The inner

Where to Stay Bangkok – Pratunam
For those who like to do their thrift shopping around the clock, consider staying at Pratunam the next time you’re in Bangkok! Wholesale malls and 24/7 markets set up shop here, and this is where tourists come for the best bargains. Wholesale business people and young travellers who reside here are attracted to the discounts their bulk purchases make, so bring along a friend of similar tastes to get the best deals (e.g. purchasing 3 pairs of shorts are cheaper compared to just buying 1 at the markets).
Pro Tip: Be sure to bring your tenacity when visiting these markets! Many tourists frequent Bangkok yearly and the locals have learned to recognize a foreigner from a mile away, they will not hesitate to overcharge you when the opportunity arises so be bold and bring out your bargaining skills to get your money’s worth. It’s all part of the charm and fun when travelling to these wholesale markets.

Pro Tip: My favourite thing about the hotel is oddly not the hotel itself but the 2 convenience stores located nearby, which has everything you would possibly need on your trip. From toiletries and cheap “gourmet convenience” meals to unexpected local markets I chanced upon as I walked from Pratunam Mall to the hotel, I’ve stayed there thrice and was never disappointed once! However, I do have to point out that it’s located in a dimly lit alley and would not be the safest location to stay at if you’re travelling alone. Pick up some self-defence skills before booking your next hotel.
